Information for New Students
Welcome!
We are looking forward to your arrival at the University of Utah!
If your mailing or e-mail address has changed since you first applied, please notify the Graduate Secretary, Jill Wilson .
If you are newly admitted for Fall 2009 semester, an Information Packet will be mailed to you in late May and will contain details about registering for classes, taking the placement exams, and attending various orientation meetings.
Degree Program Guidelines : a complete list of all of the courses that are required for completion of your particular degree.
Course Offerings : lists of the courses that are offered each semester. Be sure to consult with your major teacher/advisor for help in constructing your schedule. Please note that all TA's, GA's, and international students are required to take a minimum of 9 credit hours per semester. ALL graduate students are required to register for a minimum of three credit hours until the oral defense is completed.

This form is included in your information packet and should be mailed or faxed back to the Graduate Secretary by August 3. Please complete both sides of the form.
Fall 2009 Ensemble Auditions: School of Music performing ensembles (bands, choirs, etc.) will hold placement auditions during the week of August 17-21.
Audition Music for Orchestra and Wind Ensemble available in the McKay Music Library (located on the first floor of David Gardner Hall) after July 1st. Woodwind, Brass, and Percussion music is also avaliable online.
New Student Information Packet: This is the online version of the packet you will receive in the mail.
