Peter Margulies has been a member of the Utah Symphony since 1989. During the 1990- 1991 season, he was principal trumpet of the San Antonio Symphony. He has also performed with the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Grand Teton Music Festival Orchestra.

Mr. Margulies received his Bachelor of Music degree, Summa Cum Laude in 1984 from the Eastman School of Music. After a brief period as a member of the Glenn Miller Orchestra, he attended the Julliard School where, in 1987, he received his Master of Music degree. Mr. Margulies has been a faculty member at the University of Utah since 1992 where he teaches applied trumpet. He has appeared as soloist with various University Ensembles and in October 2002, he was a soloist with the Utah Symphony performing the world premiere of Anthony Plog's concerto for two trumpets.
