Jessica Napoles is an Assistant Professor of Choral Music Education at the University of Utah, where she teaches coursework in Choral Rehearsal Techniques and Choral Methods.
She is the conductor of the Women's Chorus, a nonauditioned group of women from all majors across the university. A native of Florida with a Cuban-American background, Dr. Napoles taught in the public schools of Miami and Orlando for seven years. She received her Bachelor of Music Education, Master of Music Education, and PhD in Music Education from the Florida State University, under the tutelage of Clifford Madsen, Judy Bowers, and Andre Thomas.
She is very active in her professional organizations, having served as Florida American Choral Directors Association Repertoire and Standards Chair for Ethnic and Multicultural Affairs, the World Music Awareness chair of the Florida Music Educators Association, and the district chair for the Florida Vocal Association. Dr. Napoles is an active conductor, clinician, adjudicator, and researcher.
