Maurice Abravanel Studio
Housed within the McKay Music Library, the Maurice Abravanel Studio contains the scores and important memorabilia of Maestro Maurice Abravanel, a generous contribution to the School of Music from the Maestro's widow, Carolyn Abravanel.
Maurice Abravanel was the founder of the Utah Symphony orchestra and its conductor from 1947 to 1978. The studio appointments also include the Maestro's Steinway grand piano, study table and other furnishings from his home studio.
The Abravanel Studio serves as an individual or group study, seminar or rehearsal room through advanced reservation.
Visitors are welcome to visit the Studio to view the historical photographs which chronicle the Maestro's career.
