Pep Band

The University of Utah Basketball Pep Bands perform at all home Women's and Men's Basketball Games and gymnastics events. Membership is open to all university students, however, enrollment in both traveling bands is determined through auditions, which are typically scheduled in early October. The Basketball Bands are considered high profile performance ensembles as many games are regionally and nationally televised. There is not a requirement to be a music major in order to be considered for membership and each member of both traveling bands receives a scholarship. In addition to over forty basketball and gymnastic events, these ensembles perform for many additional university, community and recruiting events. Members of the traveling bands attend the annual Mountain West Conference Tournament in Las Vegas, NV. and the Women's and Men's NCAA Tournament. Recent NCAA travel destinations include: Milwaukee, WI., Fresno, CA., Tucson, AZ., Austin, TX., and Albuquerque,NM.
