Benny Bidwell (Masters student) comes from Rexburg, Idaho, and has studied music at Boise State University, Brigham Young University-Idaho, Brigham Young University, and the University of Utah, currently pursuing his Master of Music degree in composition there.  Benny is an oboist and has written several works for various chamber ensembles, including string quartet, brass quintet, mixed ensembles, art songs, and pieces for electronics.

Liudmila Chise (Ph.D. student) comes from Moldova (Europe) where she completed her Bachelor in Musicology (2004) and Master in Composition (2006) at the Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts in Chisinau. Liudmila Chise is the recipient of the 2009 Robertson Prize. Her chamber and orchestral pieces have been performed at the International Festival of New Music held yearly in Moldova.

Igor Iachimciuc (Ph.D. student) is currently finishing his dissertation on György Kurtág, in pursuit of a Ph.D. in composition at the University of Utah. Igor's composition awards include the Wayne Peterson Prize from the San Francisco-based Earplay ensemble, and prizes from the Silver Chrysanthemum National Competition (Moldova). He has received an orchestral commission from the Utah Arts Festival, and chamber music commissions from the Salt Lake City Intermezzo concert series.

George Marie (Ph.D. student) holds degrees from the University of Iowa and Drake University.  His music has been performed at the International Double Reed Society Conference and the Midwest Composers Symposium, and has been recorded by the Drake University Choir.

Sergiu Rosca (Ph.D. student) is a PhD student from Moldova. He holds Bachelor and Masters degrees in composition from the Academy of Music, Theater and Fine Arts. His background experience includes teaching at the Academy and working as a sound director in computer technologies at the NPBC "Teleradio-Moldova." His works have been performed at different national and international concerts.

David Snedegar (Ph.D. student) earned a Master of Music in Composition at Brigham Young University. At California State University, Fullerton, David graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Music in Composition and a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education. He is very much interested in how music is seen and felt and is constantly searching for ways to include these other senses in his music.
